Welcome to Azantyr !
Azantyr is the home to the most versatile dogs in the country. Mainly we focus on breeding the German Shepherd, a breed that has proven us many times over just how complex it is. Our dogs, no matter their lines, don't shy away from neither working tasks nor presentating themselves in the show ring. They are passionate about both, therefore we are concentrating on keeping those predispositions in our breeding program, as the second most important point.
Firstly and foremostly, however, we strive to breed a healthy dog capable of living with humans as their most trusted companion. That is why we put health first!
We are based in Switzerland, which has given us many advantages over the years. Being in the centre of Europe allows us to actively participate in almost all competitions which we are interested in, because nowhere is too far from us. Another bright point is, that we don't have to travel long distances to import dogs from Germany, Czech Republic, Croatia and Slovakia to keep our lines fresh. However, we closely keep in touch with breeders all over the world. Majority of our American showlines come from the Canada based Delta Kennel, with which we have been co-operating for years, always providing us with preeminent stock, not only when it comes to German Shepherds, but also Belgian Malinois and Rottweilers.
We are always up for a challenge and as such, will take on any reclaimed dog or one without a home that catches our eye. This scenario has, thanfully, only happened a few times over the course of years, but we have yet to regret our decisions regarding any of those dogs. All of them have proven, with time, proper care & training, to be exceptional driven workers. Many of them to the degree of standing at stud.
Breeding program at Azantyr is restricted to only those dogs, that pass all the necessary examinations and are indeed the best specimen of their breed. Those restrictions apply to all our dogs, not just our main breed. If we see a dog isn't fit to produce only the best quality offspring, then it will never be bred. People that are only looking for a pup because of color or cuteness won't find themselves to be accepted to our reservations. Our reservation lists are long and made in-advance, to ensure real interest in Azantyr bred dogs.
